August Is A Wicked Month was the title of Edna O'Brien's fourth book.

This young lady, standing on a Barcelona corner with a brolly brought the title back into my head - I can't imagine why.

The book is now out of print. Most of the books on my shelves seem to be out of print. I can live with that.
