He was short and he had big heels on his boots to help him see over the counter.
There were two women working the counter in the bank. When he'd gone, the older woman said,
"Do you know who that was?"
"Who?"
"The guy you were serving."
"No. Who was he?"
"Dave Hill, the guitarist in Slade."
There was a moment or two of complete silence and then the younger woman shook her head and muttered the following, never to be forgotten wordz,
"Who are Slade?"

I know who Slade are, or were, because Nobby's Nuts are on sale in the Hole in the Ground Bar.
