Cut Up

Track of the day - Stormy Monday Blues - Earl Hines

I went to visit Duane to get my hair cut this morning. Duane was in fine form and told me all about the local 'we're open 12 months a year firework shop' that opened up at the end of October and then closed down again on the 4th of November.
At 5.30 on the 4th a couple of guys went in the shop and demanded the takings. There was only one assistant in there at the time and he told them the day's takings had already been banked. They didn't believe him and he ended up with slash wounds to his right hand.
The shop closed down that night.
I'm sorry the guy got cut up but I'm glad the shop has gone. We could all have got blown up. Duane knows about everything that's going on in the area.
He didn't know Mrs B is in hospital but he does now. He reckoned she was a lot safer in Hospital than she would be at home. I wasn't entirely convinced.

The 9.00am scan showed nothing. No ulcer, no gallbladder abnormalities and definitely no gallstones.
This afternoon's endoscopy was postponed until tomorrow morning. The stomach consultant had a 'very full diary' and was hoping the scan would solve the mystery.
"You haven't by any chance been to any very loud rock gigs recently have you?" he asked her this morning as he was on his way out of the room.
"Rock cakes? I haven't eaten any rock cakes for years," she assured him.
